1 – Who is Applying?

First of all, you have to offer more than just your name. An employer wants to know as much about you as possible. Prepare a cover letter to help your profile come alive in the eyes of the employer; summarize your work history, experiences, industry knowledge and skills. Make sure your cover letter is no more than 50 to 80 words.

2 – Is your CV authentic?

It is not enough just to create a visually impressive CV. What matters is the quality of the information you provide. It is important to be authentic because employers want to know if you meet all the requirements. As Bernard Kelvin Clive said, “Your CV is just a product, present yourself.”

3 – How relevant are the skills on your CV to the position applied for?

Try to emphasize your skills related to your industry. This shows how well you know the industry and how relevant you are to the position. Employers often pay extra attention to the skills on your CV and decide whether to go ahead with you or not based on your skills.

4 – Prove it

Talking about your skills, experience and strengths is meaningless unless you can prove it. Providing examples where you can add your skills, experience and strengths is an important factor that distinguishes you from other candidates. For example, if you are a candidate who states that you communicate effectively, you can support this with examples of your work in university clubs.

5 – Why am I still reading this CV?

Employers who review your CV are likely to ask this question. Keep this question in mind while preparing your CV. Emphasize the qualities that make you the most suitable candidate for the targeted position without cluttering the information.

By keeping these basic principles in mind, you can be sure that your CV will attract the attention of potential employers in the best possible way. By expressing yourself in the best way possible, you can make your job applications more effective and successful.
